Bake A Thanksgiving Cake: Thankful for Cake (and Pie!)

Roasted, stuffed, glazed, and baked, turkey and pie often take centerstage during the special holiday that is Thanksgiving. But, if you’ve clicked on this article, I’d like to believe you’re ready or at least willing to switch up the Thanksgiving dessert spread this year.

As a girl with a sweet tooth, what always excites me the most about family-oriented holidays is dessert! And, as a treat that can be overlooked during the season of gratitude, I am thrilled to dig into the deliciousness of Thanksgiving cakes. And, to the traditional die-hards, don’t worry, we’ve still made some space for pie here too. Read below as we tell you how you can serve Thanksgiving cake, pie, or both for this fun holiday.

Birthday Celebration Traditions in the UK

The Brits sure know how to throw a grand party guaranteed to make anyone feel like royalty (see what I did there?) with chambers in Buckingham Palace, and we’re here for it! Scroll all the way through the blog to find out more about birthday celebration traditions in the UK.

Scary Scrumptious: Spooky Cakes for Halloween

Although the custom of “trick-or-treating” never quite reached my own childhood, I have always found an affinity toward things mysterious and creepy. Whether it was through making imaginative concoctions and potions with soil and seawater or watching my all-time favorite Tim Burton film, “Corpse Bride” – the spooky themes of Halloween somehow trickled into my young years. I may not be an expert in spooky cakes, but I do take pride in being an amateur baker. So, merging these two specialties seems like a fun way to explore the flavors and customs of Halloween!

Equal parts spooky and delicious, let’s take a closer look at the scary scrumptious world of spooky cakes! With autumn flavors like spiced apple, cinnamon, sweet pumpkin pie, nutmeg, and death-by-chocolate (pun intended), there is no way these desserts won’t knock your socks off. Featuring ghosts, mummies, witches, and creepy crawlies, these festive cakes might bring more goblins to your doorstep. And, don’t let these freaky designs fool you; we’ve also included easy, no-bake treats for the Halloween mummies, I mean mommies, who don’t have all the extra hours to spare!

Spoiling Dad With Cake For Father’s Day

Perhaps their dry sense of humor, bad taste in fashion, and typical ‘good cop’ parenting style are what makes us so fond of Dad. Digressing for a moment, I’m also convinced that dads develop all their ‘Dad’ traits through a universal Zoom meeting called ‘Dad Classes 101’ or something. Anyway, just like cakes, dads come in all forms. There are funny ones, serious ones, tall ones, short ones, bald ones (no shade, we live for the look), and ones with sprinkles on top. Oh wait, that’s actual cake. No wonder it can be difficult to find the perfect gift and cake for Father’s Day!

Nonetheless, dads take up a well-earned space in our hearts, and what better way to show our appreciation than by giving them the gift of colorful and creamy confectionery this Father’s Day? Besides using this article to deliver well-balanced cake and dad jokes, I promise to provide you with some useful information. Keep reading to find out how you can make or send your dad a cake for Father’s Day that will have him in ‘tiers.’

Nailed It! Come Make a Cake with Me!

I’m sure this may come as a shock to many of my readers, but while I absolutely LOVE eating cake, making a cake isn’t exactly my day job. That’s not to say I would completely flop on that popular baking show (hence the chosen blog name), but I’m also not getting into a pastry chef school any time soon.

With that said, I had the opportunity to make a cake (and cupcakes) for one of my favorite tiny humans a few weeks back. For your entertainment, and to offer up some humble baking advice, I documented my progress! So, sit back and enjoy as I tell you my colorful tale of crumbling cake, haywire (but DELICIOUS) frosting, and a little girl who loved every single bite!

Valentine’s Day Cupcakes: From Sweetie to Sweets!

Hey, watch out!

Phew! You almost got hit with that arrow! That could only mean one thing: It’s Valentine’s Day!

Ah, the holiday where sweets rule and chubby babies yielding weapons aren’t a brow-raising encounter. It’s also a day for many killjoy couples to make the irritating declaration that they don’t need a holiday to show their love. (mega eye roll) Nay Nay. Valentine’s Day is more than flowers and candy – I mean, there’s cake, too! Okay, I was kidding about that one. Well, not really … I mean, cake is delicious, but I digress.

Valentine’s Day is a time to celebrate love, friendship, and the joy of having other people in your life. Not just your lover, but your friends, your parents … anyone you want to tell “thank you for loving me.” And, yes, we should appreciate our loved ones all year round, yadda yadda, obviously, but let’s be honest here: if there wasn’t a holiday telling you to bring home cake, you’d probably never bring home cake, right? We all know the truth. So, this Valentine’s Day, instead of making silly announcements and ruining everyone’s fun, read this article and learn how to make the best of the holiday of love (with some help from Valentine’s Day Cupcakes of course).
